  4. OneKey is a 1.3/2.0 compatible input handler for people who can only
  5. press (or cause to be pressed) one keyboard key at a time.
  6.  
  7. OneKey gathers individually pressed qualifier keys ( SHIFT, ALT, CONTROL,
  8. L-AMIGA, and R-AMIGA ), and applies them to the next non-qualifier key
  9. that is pressed.

  11. For example, when OneKey is running, SHIFT followed by "s" will produce
  12. "S", L-AMIGA followed by "b" will cancel a requester, and CONTROL
  13. followed by "c" will be CTRL-C.

  15. I apologize that I still don't have deadkeys working with OneKey
  16. (for example, ALT "f" "a" to get an "á"), but one workaround is
  17. to setmap to the usa0 keymap (thanks to Andy Finkel for that hint).
  18. With the usa0 keymap, all accented characters are available via simple
  19. ALT + one key combinations.  With OneKey running, these could be typed
  20. as ALT followed by one key.  Those with non-usa keyboards who require
  21. accented characters could edit the usa0 keymap with a keymap editor
  22. to swap the necessary keys to match their keycaps.

  24. 2.0 users should be able to place OneKey in their WbStartup drawer.
  25. 1.3 and 2.0 users can put "run >NIL: onekey" in their startup sequence.
  26. Or you can double-click it.

  28. OneKey toggles on and off.  If it is already running, running or
  29. clicking it again will turn it off.

  31. I have included the source code to OneKey.  Perhaps someone with
  32. more time than me can get the deadkeys working :-)

  34. I hope that OneKey will make it possible for more people to take
  35. advantage of the the Amiga's unique capabilities.
